Coordinator - Building, Events, & Culture, Undergraduate Studies

The College of Engineering and Science at Louisiana Tech University is seeking a highly qualified individual for a Coordinator - Building, Event, and Culture in the college. The College offers 14 undergraduate engineering and science programs for approximately 2,600 undergraduate students. Serves all of COES with keeping the facilities operating, as well as supporting events and other academic activities. Handles all inventory control for the building, and assists with scheduling of the facility.

This position will support the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Studies. Expected position duties and functions include:

•    Event Planner for the College; Primary scheduling contact; Attend events to facilitate operations and respond to situations; Leadership and oversight of event promotion;
•    Oversee all building scheduling, decorating, and creating the overall atmosphere of the building and events. Promote and enhance the culture within COES among students, staff, and faculty
•    Primary contact for building maintenance and repair requests.
•    Hire, coordinate, and manage student workers to assist with event sets up and building needs.
•    Schedule facilities for University and outside organizations. Coordinate with customer(s) to determine rental costs, audio/visual needs, catering needs, security needs and room layout for various buildings on campus.
•    Maintain weekly and monthly facility activities calendar; update the calendar as required
•    Schedules and plan organization events, academic activities, conferences, and outreach activities that support the culture of engagement in the college.
•    Contact for IESB Inventory. Maintain the inventory and maintenance of facilities. Conduct pre and post-event inspections ensuring the facilities and grounds are kept clean and in good condition; work with the appropriate parties to address any concerns. 
•    Other duties as assigned.

Essential qualifications and skills required are a BS degree, excellent customer service skills, the

ability to work with all types of people and to assume facilitator and leadership roles while making an impact on other’s lives, multi-task and prioritize activities, communicate professionally, with clarity and brevity (both orally and in writing), have flexibility, be a team player with a positive outlook, and competent computer/technical skills. Expected salary of $36,000.
