What You'll Do Here:
The Food & Beverage Assistant Operations Manager is an assistant manager role responsible for the strategic vision, operational execution, and financial performance of all food and beverage venues, including restaurant, lounge, pool, market and digital dining, banquet and conference services. The successful candidate will drive revenue growth, optimize profitability, and ensure an exceptional and consistent guest experience across all outlets and events.
Operational Excellence
- Supports and Manages the Banquet Department while working closely with the other hotel departments. Leadership responsibilities may also include Convention Services Set Up and Banquet Beverage.
- Supervise, Empower, Lead, Coach and Motivate the Banquet team including captains, food servers, and lead house attendants towards achieving exceptional guest service results and complete associate engagement
- Ability to assist the hotel in reaching top box service scores on our Meeting Planner surveys. Ensure thorough communication and understanding with guests and other departments by reviewing Banquet Event Orders. Responsible for the appropriate and timely set up of all functions and meetings while maintaining standards of food, beverage and meeting specifications
- Responsible for proactively reviewing staffing and equipment needs
- Responsible for ensuring coordination and execution of all events with Culinary, Stewarding, Catering/CS, CS Floor and Beverage
- Responsible for developing innovative and creative décor for Banquet function space
- Responsible for short- and long-term banquet functions in the front and back of the house
- Performing daily walk-throughs in banquet department and all function space and storerooms to ensure full compliance with Department of Health regulations and Hyatt Corporate standards
- Ability to develop ideas for special events and holiday functions
- Oversee the flawless execution of banquets and coordinating with clients and internal teams.
- Monitor inventory, control purchasing, and manage supplier relationships to maximize product quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Works closely with the events departments to coordinate and execute all banquet events, from small meetings to large-scale conferences and weddings.
- Coordinates with the sales and events team to align food and beverage offerings with overall brand strategy and promotes special events, holiday functions, and promotions.
- Upholds impeccable standards of service in all dining venues, ensuring a consistent and exceptional guest experience.
- Stays updated on culinary and beverage trends, as well as competitor offerings, to ensure the outlets remain relevant and competitive.
- Responsible for working alongside Food & Beverage Operations Manager for creation and execution of activations, not limited to Pool, Market, Bistro 300 and lobby activations
- Responsible for working alongside Food & Beverage Operations Manager ensuring Open Table is current and engaged
- Implement procedures to increase guest and employee satisfaction
- Exercise quality control for both food and beverage
- Maintain Hyatt standards of service and ensure their implementation
- Perform daily walk-through to ensure full compliance with Department of Health regulations, EcoSure, Quality Assurance and Hyatt Corporate standards
- Coach and counsel employees to reflect Hyatt service standards and procedures
- Responsible for working alongside Food & Beverage Operations Manager to assist with payroll, reports, forecasts, inventory and budget for outlet operations
- Resolve customer complaints as appropriate to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and quality
- Coach and counsel employees to reflect Hyatt service standards and procedures
Financial Performance
- Analyze financial and operational data, including point-of-sale reports, to implement strategies that increase revenue and profitability.
- Administrative tasks may include the facilitation of payroll, reports, forecasts, point of sale procedures, inventory
- Creates and implements strategies to drive revenue across all outlets and banquet services.
- Manages pricing and works with purchasing to ensure a balanced approach to quality and cost.
- Optimize staff scheduling to ensure adequate coverage while managing labor costs effectively.
- Responsible for working alongside Food & Beverage Operations Manager for proactive communication, proficiency and effective results as related to Project Olympia
Guest and Client Relations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for high-profile clients during the execution phases fostering strong relationships and ensuring contractual obligations are met.
- Monitor guest satisfaction feedback through various channels, implementing corrective action plans to improve service performance.
- Analyzes guest feedback through comment cards, online reviews, and direct communication to continuously improve service delivery and guest satisfaction. Develops and implements long-term business strategies for all food and beverage operations, including creating innovative event concepts and new bar menu ideas.
- Ensures that all event spaces, restaurant, restaurant kitchen, and equipment are clean operational.
Compliance and Safety
- Enforce all health, safety, and sanitation standards according to local, state, and federal regulations.
- Ensure all staff are properly trained on emergency procedures and legal requirements, such as alcohol service (e.g., TIPS certification).

Qualifications
• Minimum of 2+ years as F&B Management preferred
• Wine/beverage knowledge in an upscale environment preferred
• Ideal applicant should have strong organizational skills, ability to work with flexible work schedule, be a team player and a dynamic leader
